Our Assam loose leaf black tea from Bukhial Estate is a beautifully mellow TGFOP with bright coppery-gold liquor, smooth malty depth and a distinctive plum-like finish. Grown on the south bank of the Brahmaputra and harvested during the prized second flush season, it offers classic Assam richness in a more rounded, refined style — excellent with milk, yet smooth enough to enjoy black.
Assam Loose Leaf Black Tea from Bukhial Estate
Bukhial Estate is one of Assam’s most respected tea gardens, producing orthodox black teas with genuine depth and a notably smooth character. This single-estate TGFOP selection shows the garden at its best: carefully made, golden-flecked and richly satisfying in the cup.
The estate sits in the Golaghat district, near Nagaland, where comparatively lower rainfall slows leaf growth and helps concentrate flavour. The result is an Assam with richness and body, but also a pleasing mellowness that sets it apart from more forceful styles.
Mellow Malt with a Distinctive Plum-Like Finish
In the cup, this Assam loose leaf black tea pours a vivid coppery-gold liquor with excellent clarity. The flavour is warm and malty, but softer and more rounded than many robust Assams.
A smooth, plum-like sweetness develops through the finish, giving the tea an inviting depth and a slightly fruitier personality. It is full enough to satisfy, yet balanced enough to remain elegant.
TGFOP Second Flush Leaf with Refined Assam Character
The TGFOP grade, or Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe, reflects a carefully selected orthodox leaf with attractive golden tips and a more polished cup.
This tea is harvested during the second flush, when Assam teas typically develop their fullest malt character and deepest body. Bukhial captures that richness beautifully while retaining a smoother, more approachable profile.

Excellent with Milk, Equally Pleasing Black
Bukhial TGFOP takes milk particularly well. A small splash brings out the tea’s malty warmth and softens the finish into a rich, comforting cup.
It is also rewarding taken black, where the plum-like note and natural smoothness come through most clearly. That versatility makes it a fine choice for breakfast, mid-morning or any time you want a more refined Assam.
How to Brew Assam Bukhial TGFOP
Use freshly boiled water at 100°C and add one heaped teaspoon per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes for a bright, lively cup.
For greater depth and strength, extend to around 5 minutes. Avoid over-steeping beyond this point, as the finer TGFOP leaf can become more astringent.
Serve with milk for a rounder, fuller cup, or enjoy black to appreciate its naturally mellow character.
